North Dakota is a state in the midwestern and northern region of the United States. It is the 19th largest state at 70,762 square miles and the 4th least populated with over 750,000 residents. It became the 39th state in 1889. In the early 21st century there was a boom in natural resources, oil extraction to be specific for ND but now with the lack of diversity in its’ economy, it has put pressure on North Dakotas finances.
