Arkansas is a state located in the southeastern regions of the United States. It is the 29th largest state at 53,179 square miles and the 33rd most populated with over 2.9 million residents. It was admitted as the 25th state in 1836. However, in 1861 it withdrew from the U.S. and joined the Confederate Sates of America, before retuning back to the union in 1868.
